Great adventures happen at night

Postby Water Centaur » Thu Oct 09, 2008 10:31 pm

After I completed my schooling for the afternoon, I decided to come home for a nap. It went:

I was at a high school where Claire from "Heroes" attended. I was part of the dream, but I didnt really interact with her. Anyways, someone shouted that this popular boy came back and everyone rushed to greet him. I was uninterested so I decided to leave the school running. As I ran parts of the side walk became missing. I jumped over them and kept running. Pretty soon the missing parts became bigger and bigger and every time I jumped it felt like I was floating. Well I came across a huge gap, over ten feet long. I jumped and began to come down in the middle of the gap, and then I thought "I can stilll make this" and I willed myself to the end of the gap. And then my alarm clock woke me. -_-

Nonetheless, I was still happy because I have been trying to lucid dream for a while now :D.

The Shushumna

Thanks for sharing, Water Centaur.

I found it interesting how you had imagery of the sidewalk being in segments and broken up and floating. This is very similar to dream imagery I encountered a lot when I was younger. Often it would happen that I would be in a car and then the road would become like the sidewalk in your dream. It would be floating in the air and it would be broken into segments. The car would jump from segment to segment, and then the car would disappear at some point and I would be left floating / falling and I would control my drop so that I landed safely.

I found that these segmented "bridges" were possibly related to the connection of consciousness to the higher planes of consciousness. In spiritual / yogic terminology this is known as the shushumna. It is the line of light that runs through the spine and out into the cosmic spheres. There are meditations that one can do to help to strengthen and build the consciousness of the shushumna. Basically you consciously visualize this line of light and then through your intention you place your sense of identification there. It is good to remind yourself at various points in the day to remember it and bring your sense of identification back to this line of lighted consciousness.

Best wishes,

That is very interesting. I have made an effort to meditate more often and I will definitely practice this technique. Thank you Blake.

I had this dream a few days ago.

It started when some friends and I were walking through an airport terminal after getting off the plane. My friends Jessica, Chris, Robbie and I decided to go to Paris. It was a cool town, not quite the bustling city one would imagine.

We started walking through a park. There was this huge building next to the park with a bunch of television screens playing the same thing where the windows should have been. Above me on a hill were a bunch of people painting and drawing, and below me further down the hill were people learning music. There was also a lake filled with red candle wax instead of water.

We set on our journey to get to our apartment we rented for the vacation. Though Robbie went to Paris with us, for some reason he was already at the apartment.

A horse drawn carriage pulled up to take us around the candle wax lake to get to our apartment.I don't know what Jess was thinking but she didn't get inside the carriage with Chris and I. She insisted on sitting on the part where you step up on. As we began to ride around the lake she lost her balance and fell in. I tried to catch her but it was too late. While i was trying to save her from her fall, part of my head skimmed into the waxy lake and it felt strange.

I of course started freaking out because my friend was in candle wax of all things. The driver didn't seem to notice, however. I started screaming "mi amie! mi amie!" which means "my friend" in French/Spanish. I am not fluent in French so I couldn't tell him exactly what happened, so I started speaking in Spanish/English/French hoping he would catch on. He finally got the picture and turned around.

I could see Jessica's hand at the very edge of the lake. Her body was under wax, but her hand was sticking out of the wax at the very edge of the lake waiting to be rescued.I found it amusing that she made it to the very edge, but she didn't try to get herself out.

Anyways the driver turned around and I tried to grab her hand as we swooped by, but I missed it because he was going too fast. He turned around again but we told him to stop a little short so we could jump out and pull her out. Chris and I grabbed her out and got her safely back into the carriage. Pulling her out was a little difficult because it was more like a hole in the ground than a lake shore. She was also pretty grumpy from falling into the lake. I tried to lighten the mood as I was peeling the wax from her skin by telling her that at least her skin was softer because of it.

After that ordeal, we finally made it to the end of the road where the apartment was. Chris and Jess went inside and they were a bit angry with the driver. I stayed outside to talk to him and pay him. it turned out Chris had already paid him the fifteen dollars, and I asked if they had tipped him. The driver said no. As I was looking through my money we started a conversation. It turned out he could speak English the whole time. He told me he was an ex catholic priest from Ohio. Then i started to say "well I'm surprised they didn't tip you after..." and then he cut me off "after all that shit you mean?" I was taken aback because he used foul language. I guess I expected an ex priest to be more diplomatic. After that I didn't really like him anymore. The end.

Two nights ago I realized I was dreaming. I was in a building at one of the high schools I attended. I don't know what triggered my realization but I decided to test it nonetheless. I told myself, "If I'm dreaming then I can walk through walls". I looked in front of me and there was a door with a glass frame. I punched my hand right through the glass. Then I stepped back, closed my eyes and ran through the door!

Another test I gave myself was that if I could float then I am dreaming. I jumped up and willed myself to float! Then I knew I was dreaming for sure. I continued to venture into the school completely I was I was dreaming. I jumped about a huge lecture hall. The people in the hall seemed a little dull and vacant. I left.

Then this guy and assaulted me. I stopped him and looked him in the eye and asked "Who are you really?" He stopped and just kinda stared at me. He reminded me of a robot that was experiencing a glitch. Suddenly his face changed into another just for a second. It did this another time but neither times I couldn't make out who it was. I woke up soon after.

Hooray!

I am happy to say that since I have started practicing to become an onieronaut, I have made great progress. I have recognized one of my dream signs. I tend to dream about swimming pools and water rides often. Now it's a matter of "waking up" in my dreams.

I bought Steven LaBerge's book call Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming. I find it very interesting sofar and have just gone over the section covering dream signs. This process has helped me greatly, because I am dreaming quite often and noticing the repetitive occurances of certain dream signs. For example, I am willing myself to places via flight or sliding on my knees. I am also dreaming of swimming pools and theme parks.

However, I am a little frustrated because I am not realizing I am dreaming during the dream. It seems that these dream signs are shouting at me during the dream but I don't seem to notice them until after I wake up. Perhaps I am not focusing my mind enough to recognize these signs.

My have I neglected both my online journal and my written journal. :/

Two days ago I was thinking about a friend I had lost a couple of years ago. Before I drifted off to sleep, I decided I wanted to dreamwalk into her dreams to say hello.

I ended up dreaming about the workplace we worked at together. Our old manager was there and told me my friend would be coming in soon. I thought about it and realized that even if I were to see my friend Sarah again, she wouldn't want to talk about how things ended and we would be very fake to each other and pretend like nothing happened. I decided that I would rather us not meet again than us being superficial and fake to one another. I left our work place before she came in.

In my waking life I had already come to this conclusion, but I miss her so much sometimes. I thought that if I dream walked to her it would be okay. However, when it came down to it in my dreams, I still had doubts about us meeting. I still would rather not see her at all than pretend to be okay with each other.

This morning I dreampt I was in a field similar to the one at my middle school. Across the skies I could see dozens of fighter planes, swarming around similar to the way bees swarm. They were the enemy. They had a hostile, German Nazi feel to them. The sky was gray.

It's a bit hazy how I transition from the field to in a car with some friends.

We were all feeling a wave of dread. Soon the enemy planes would come and attack us. We drove to a gas station...I think to get rations. Then, instinctively I began to lead everyone in a group meditation. Apparently we had super powers, though it wasn't the main focus because we were already aware of them. I told them to all close their eyes and hold out their hands (yes even the driver). I told them to focus on their individual power. Concentrate on exactly what their specialty was, be it offensive, defensive, or healing (I was talking about me). I then told them to focus their energy into a ball in their hands, feel it getting stronger and bigger. Feel it's density. I then told them to keep it around, use that energy as reserves in case things got really bad during the inevitable battle. I soon woke up.

Well this one happened during my afternoon nap.

Postby Water Centaur » Tue Jun 09, 2009 8:20 am

I was laying in my brother's bed that happened to be located in my room before I moved out. I dreampt I was in the same room and became lucid. I kept trying to venture out of the room but I kept being pulled back into the room. Eventually, I struggled to get out of the room and went on with the dream.

It wasn't until I woke up that I realized I was probably being pulled back into the room because it was a good opportunity to communicate with the spirit that resides in the upper left corner of the room.

That's the thing, I am having less trouble becoming lucid during dreams, but I don't really seem to know what to do from there until after wards. Any advice?
